The Weight” is a slow-burning, six-and-a-half-minute journey through Americana, psychedelic folk and ’70s-inspired roots rock. Built around warm guitars, piano, flute, layered harmonies and a loose, lived-in rhythm section, the song takes its time unfolding—more interested in where the road leads than getting there quickly. Recorded at Polychrome Ranch in Nashville with producer Jared Corder, “The Weight” draws from the sprawling spirit of The Marshall Tucker Band, Van Morrison and Bob Seger while filtering those influences through a modern indie-folk lens.
