By CS Hellmann · 2026 · Psychedelic/Jam
“Let It Roll” finds Nashville artist CS Hellmann leaning into a darker, psychedelic surf-western sound. Produced by Jared Corder (*repeat repeat) at Polychrome Ranch, the track grew from an old acoustic iPhone demo into an expansive arrangement built around Sean Bennett’s surf-influenced drums, Corder’s hypnotic bass line, pedal steel, vintage synth textures and increasingly warped electric guitar. Lyrically, the song centers on unrequited love and the realization that sometimes letting go is the only way forward. Rather than forcing the song into a conventional structure, Hellmann and Corder let the arrangement breathe through extended instrumental passages, giving “Let It Roll” a cinematic, nocturnal feel somewhere between psychedelic rock, surf rock and western noir.
